Biggin Hill Gardening Club Blog

Hello!

In this Biggin Hill Gardening Club Blog you’ll find a selection of garden articles and blogs written by various members of our gardening community. For example, there are (or will be, as its early days yet) : –

  • Reviews of gardens that members have visited (with photos of course!)
  • Biggin Hill Horticultural and Gardening Shows (we have 3 a year, come and see, click the Shows page for more info)
  • Topical gardening tips for Biggin Hill and district
  • Local horticultural advice and gardening ideas
  • ‘How to’ help on pruning, propagation and more
  • Profiles on plants and flowers – particularly those that do well in our gardens locally

Other topics covered will include edible plants, help with your vegetable plot and kitchen garden, including growing methods and perennial fruit as well as annual vegetables. Plus ornamental plants – flowers and foliage for colour all the year round.

Then of course there’s soil, which around here tends to be of the clay and chalk varieties which can make life interesting.  We discuss garden pests of all sizes from snails to foxes and deer. How we can garden with them to make our lives easier and not a constant battle.

And we look at larger gardens, “average sized gardens” (whatever they are!) balcony and container gardening in our blogs. Because the gardens our members have are as diverse and interesting as our members themselves.

You may like to visit us and find out for yourself – check out our Events

As your local friendly gardening club, Biggin Hill Horticultural Society offers more to members than ‘just’ talks. There are always gardening sundries such as plant labels, plant feed, and even second-hand gardening books, for sale at our gardeners evenings. And you can ask members for tips as there’s generally someone who knows the answer to your question.

But for now, why not put your feet up and have a read of the Biggin Hill Gardening Club Blog?
