Show Sponsor – Allenby Coach Hire & Trips
Allenby will be a familiar name to many of you and you’ve probably been on at least one of their coach trips. They whisk us off to the seaside to admire the wedding cake confection of the Royal Pavilion at Brighton and to Pashley Manor when the gardens are totally taken over by tulips and much more besides.
A local family run business, Allenby are the Sponsors for Biggin Hill & District Horticultural Society’s Spring Flower Show 2024. Do check out their website and see what trip you fancy. They’ll also be at the Flower Show if you‘d prefer to ask them questions in person.
Recipe for Domestic Class, Spring Show 2024
Chocolate Honeycomb Crunch – for Class 43
Ingredients:
200g milk chocolate (broken into pieces)
100g butter
3 tablespoons golden syrup
250g digestive biscuits or ginger biscuits, finely crushed
180g (approx.) Maltesers
Method:
Gently heat together the chocolate, butter and syrup in a large saucepan until smooth and melted. Stir in the biscuit crumbs and Maltesers. Don’t worry if some of the chocolate comes off in balls, they make the cake look great.
Evenly spoon into a lightly greased 18cm square, 5cm deep tin.
Refrigerate until firm, cut into squares or triangles.
